Terms of Service
Welcome to Lightning Layers. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, products and services. By accessing our website or purchasing from Lightning Layers, you agree to comply with these Terms.
1. About Us
Lightning Layers is an Australian 3D printing business offering made-to-order, custom-designed and pre-designed products through our Shopify store. We serve customers across Australia and selected international locations.

2. Orders and Payment
All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
Pricing may vary depending on your location, especially for international orders, due to exchange rates, regional taxes, customs fees, duties, shipping rates or other location-based charges.
Orders are confirmed only once full payment has been received. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion, including where there has been a pricing error, product availability issue, suspected fraudulent activity, inappropriate custom request, or a request we are unable to fulfil.
If we cancel an order after payment has been made, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled order unless otherwise permitted by law.
3. Production Times
Many Lightning Layers products are made to order. Production times are separate from shipping times and may vary depending on order volume, product complexity, material availability, printer availability and custom requirements.
Any production or delivery timeframes shown on our website are estimates only. We will make reasonable efforts to meet estimated timeframes, but delays may occur.
4. Custom and Made-to-Order Products
We offer custom printing as well as pre-designed 3D printed products.
For custom orders, you are responsible for ensuring that any files, measurements, colours, wording, names, design instructions, specifications or reference material you provide are complete and accurate.
Lightning Layers is not responsible for errors, defects or unsuitable results caused by incorrect, incomplete, low-quality, flawed or unsuitable customer-provided files, designs, instructions or source material.
Once production has begun, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
We reserve the right to refuse any custom order that we believe may be unlawful, offensive, unsafe, infringing, technically unsuitable, impractical to produce, or inconsistent with our business policies.
5. Product Variations
Due to the nature of 3D printing, minor variations may occur between products. These may include visible layer lines, slight colour differences, texture variations, minor surface imperfections, support marks, seam lines or small differences in finish.
These characteristics are normal for 3D printed items and are not considered defects unless they materially affect the function, safety or advertised appearance of the product.
Product colours may also appear differently depending on screen settings, lighting, material batches and supplier variation.
6. Returns, Refunds and Consumer Guarantees
Due to the custom and made-to-order nature of many of our products, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind, incorrect selection, customer-provided errors, or customer-requested changes once production has begun.
This does not exclude, restrict or modify your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If your item arrives damaged, defective, unsafe, or significantly different from its description, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, a description of the issue and clear photos of the product and packaging.
We may request further information to assess the issue. Where required by law, we will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement or refund.
Items must not be returned without contacting us first. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.
7. Shipping
We ship throughout Australia and to selected international destinations.
Shipping rates and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location and the shipping method selected.
Shipping timeframes are estimates only and do not include production time unless specifically stated.
Lightning Layers is not liable for shipping delays caused by postal carriers, customs authorities, weather events, peak periods, incorrect delivery information, failed delivery attempts or other external logistics providers.
If your order appears delayed or lost, please contact us so we can investigate with the shipping carrier. We may need to wait for the carrier’s investigation before offering a replacement, refund or other resolution.
8. Customer Shipping Information
You are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping details at checkout.
Lightning Layers is not responsible for orders that are delayed, returned, lost or delivered incorrectly due to incorrect or incomplete customer-provided shipping information.
If an order is returned to us due to incorrect address details, failed delivery or failure to collect, you may be responsible for any additional shipping costs to resend the order.
9. International Orders, Customs and Import Fees
International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, import fees, brokerage fees or other charges imposed by the destination country.
These charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our product prices or shipping fees unless expressly stated at checkout.
Lightning Layers is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing or for any customs charges, duties, taxes or import restrictions that may apply in your country.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the products you order can be legally imported into your country.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including product designs, product images, text, graphics, branding, logos and other materials, is the intellectual property of Lightning Layers unless otherwise stated.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, use or exploit any content from our website without our prior written consent.
Purchasing a product from Lightning Layers does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights in our designs, files, branding or content.
11. User-Provided Content and Custom Files
If you provide files, images, designs, logos, text, references or other materials for custom printing, you confirm that you own or have permission to use and reproduce that content.
You agree that your submitted content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, design right, moral right, privacy right or other rights of any third party.
You are responsible for any claims, losses, costs or damages arising from content you provide to us for custom work.
We reserve the right to refuse any job that we believe may infringe intellectual property rights, contain offensive or unlawful content, or otherwise breach our business policies.
12. Product Use and Safety
You are responsible for using our products safely and only for their intended purpose.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Lightning Layers products are not designed or certified for food contact, medical use, load-bearing applications, high-temperature environments, electrical safety applications, child safety applications or use as protective equipment.
Do not expose 3D printed products to excessive heat, open flame, prolonged direct sunlight, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves or other conditions that may cause warping, melting, weakening or damage unless the product listing specifically states that the item is suitable for that use.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lightning Layers is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our website, products or services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability in relation to any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights, guarantees, remedies or protections that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
14. Website Use
You agree not to misuse our website, interfere with its normal operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, upload malicious code, scrape content, or use the website for unlawful purposes.
We may suspend or restrict access to our website where we reasonably believe misuse has occurred.
15. Changes to Products, Pricing and Availability
We may update, modify or discontinue products, pricing, materials, colours, shipping options or website content at any time without notice.
We do our best to keep product information accurate, but errors may occasionally occur. We reserve the right to correct errors, update information, cancel affected orders, or contact you for further instructions where necessary.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
Continued use of our website or services after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
You agree that any dispute relating to these Terms, our website, products or services will be subject to the laws and courts of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.
